GPRS: Server not found

Wondering when you had configured your E50 Email setting either for pop3 or imap4 and still getting "Server not found" error? Well, you need to find the IP Address of the imap, pop or smtp server instead of the text name. Then you should be all set!

Example:
For pop.gmail.com use 209.85.133.109 [check with ping utility]
similarly smtp.gmail.com is 74.125.93.109; imap.gmail.com is 72.14.247.109

Fun 2 - Closing Applications

I used to run couple of applications and if by mistake it got stuck without proper exit, the same application would not run again. One need not require to reboot the device to close all the [running or hanging] applications. Just use the Hot Swap feature of memory card.

Press the power button and select the 'Remove mem. card' and respond 'Yes' to the prompt asking to close all applications. Though, when you are prompted to remove the memory card, it is not required. You can just respond 'OK' to access to the memory card folder and files. Now almost all the user started applications have been closed. The application which is not running for the second time but ran after a reboot will run without a need of reboot.

Happy closing applications !!!

Fun 1 - New SMS - Make E50 read it

When the New Message alert is on the screen, press and hold the Show button for few seconds to make Nokia E50 read it aloud.

The Speech system for specific language should be installed and configured before using this feature.
